On October 19, 2024 Prince George’s County Muslim Council (PGCMC) will host its Annual Fundraising Dinner to raise funds to support its operations. The mission of PGCMC is to promote the involvement of Muslim residents in the civic and political affairs of the county. The purpose of which is to facilitate the establishment of Islam as our way of life and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for all our neighbors in Prince George’s County, Muslim and non-Muslim.
Speakers at the fundraiser will include Fazlul Kabir, Mayor of College Park and Mahasin El-Amin, Clerk of the Prince George’s County Circuit Court. The keynote speaker will be none other than New York City Council Member Dr. Yusef Salaam, 1/5 of the Exonerated 5, who were falsely accused of the Central Park case back in the 1980s. He will tell his story of once being a victim of the system to now being a representative of his community to the system.
The fundraiser will take place from 7 Pm to 9 PM at MeetUp PG located at 4400 Forbes Boulevard Lanham, MD.
