PGCMC will hold its annual fundraising dinner event on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 6-9 PM at Newton-White Mansion in Mitchellville, MD. The theme for this year’s dinner is, “The Power of Purpose & Generational Engagement”.
Keynote speakers will include Dr. Sheikh Tahir Wyatt, renowned American Scholar and former Congressman and current Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. In 2012, Dr. Wyatt was appointed by Royal Decree to teach Islam in English at the Prophet’s Masjid in Madinah, becoming the first American granted that distinction. He has also served as a simultaneous interpreter for the Imams of the Prophet’s Masjid.
Attorney General Keith Ellison was the first Muslim ever elected to Congress in 2006. As Attorney General of Minnesota Keith Ellison led the prosecution of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer who knelt on George Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes on May 25, 2020, leading to Floyd’s death. Ellison, a Black Democrat, took the case after Chauvin was arrested on May 29, 2020, and it became one of the most high-profile police accountability trials in U.S. history.
